Last year’s FFA tailgate.

The FFA tailgate is going on its third straight year, and Ms.Highfill as well as the 2014-2015 officers want more people to join FFA and come to the tailgate. The FFA tailgate’s purpose is for the FFA members to meet new people and create friendships with others. The tailgate is a great opportunity to bond with other members.

Different from the student council tailgate, this year’s FFA tailgate is strictly members only.

To be an official Cross Creek FFA member you can either pay $12.00 for just the membership, or pay the he full $22.00, which includes the membership and the club’s new chapter  t-shirt. To go on the FFA field trips like Georgia National Fair and Steeds Dairy, students must have an FFA tee shirt.

“I am very excited about this year’s tailgate,”  said Senior Henslee Pettigrew.  “I remember last year, we played corn hole and ate BBQ sandwiches that Samantha Miller’s mom provided.”

Last year’s tailgate was a great turnout, but this year organizers are hoping for more participants.

“It’s a great time to mingle with others,” FFA member and junior Makenzie Cioffi said

This year’s tailgate will feature more corn hole boards and a new life-size checkers game.  There will also be BBQ sandwiches again, thanks to Samantha Miller’s mom, because they were such a hit last year. Students are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.

See Ms. Highfill in room 108 to pay membership dues. The tailgate will start at 4:30 p.m. and end once the football game begins. The event will be under the pecan trees in front of the football field.
