Basketball season is here and all of the coaches are excited for the first scrimmage game Tuesday at Cross Creek against North Augusta.

Varsity basketball coach, Coach Carter, says he is looking forward to working with his seasoned players and seeing how his new players perform.

“My team has their ups and downs,” Carter says. “Last year they played pretty good, could have been better and they had close games.  My team motivates me to teach basketball drills to be very detailed.”

Girls JV and Varsity coach, Coach Schlein, enjoys coaching. She is proud of the Cross Creek  basketball record.

“The last two years we’ve had 52 wins and four losses,”  Schlein said. “They keep me on my toes; they’re willing to work hard.”

She said she  is most definitely ready for her season to begin. She is looking forward to a new region and improving players’  games.

“I’ve been waiting for this for 2 months,” she said.

Coach Bailey likes working with the young guys. He coaches JV boys’ basketball and JV football.

“My team usually makes the playoffs every year,” Bailey said. “We finished the  season second place in the county last year.”

He looks forward to seeing the guys improve and getting better throughout the year.

“My team inspires me by committing themselves to the team, sacrificing their time and learning to become good teammates,” Bailey said.
