Nicki Minaj’s “Pinkprint” brings variety with a message

January 13, 2015
The ‘Pinkprint” is Nicki Minaj’s third album.
She was so inspired by Jay-Z’s “Blueprint” album that she decided to “borrow” the album name.
It’s no surprise then that the most successful song from this album thus far has been “Anaconda,” which is a remix of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” a pop-rap sample.
“Only” is the second single she dropped from the album which features Drake, Chris Brown and ‘Lil Wayne.
“Only” is the No. 2 song on the Hip-Hop singles chart.
The album is now fourth on the Billboard Charts, but No. 1 on the Hip-Hop charts.
In her song “All Things Go”, Minaj opens up about her decision to have an abortion. ”My child with Aaron would‘ve been 16, any minute”-Nicki Minaj sings, referring to her deceased child.
The release has something for everybody in terms of genres and themes. It’s definitely worth checking out.
