The official theme of Homecoming this year will be superheroes. Each day during the week of Oct. 19 will have a different theme.

Monday students will dress up as their favorite superhero, Tuesday will be twin day, Wednesday will be retro, Thursday will be dress up and Friday will be spirit day.

Mrs. Glover, who helps organize the event, said she is excited that the time has arrived.

“I like most about homecoming when I get to see all the old students, more teachers get involved with the activities, and seeing the stands packed out,” Mrs. Glover said.

Voting for Homecoming candidates will be Wednesday and the parade will be that Friday.

The candidates running for Homecoming are Brandon Dowling, Vincent Brown, Eastoria Darley, Island Smalley, Kambria Collins, Jimmieka Acosta, Emoni Townes, Brooke Teal, and Darbi Jackson. Candidates were chosen through a point system that took into account things like GPA, club participation, teacher recommendations, and an essay, organizers said.

A video featuring each of the candidates and their stances on various issues will be shown Monday, prior to the voting.
