What’s Your Muse?

Barbara Rowe, Staff Writer

Cross Creek is full of amazingly artistic students. Our school’s art teacher, Mrs. Peake,  says two students, Noah Quarles and Britton Palmer, in particular always seem to catch her eye. Mrs. Peake explained that they always have something unique to offer.

Mrs. Peake only knows of one student who has gotten a scholarship off of art, and that’s senior Clara Edwards to SCAD formally known as Savannah College of Art and Design.

Junior, Britton Palmer, enjoys art because it is a way to express yourself. Her favorite piece by her is on the wall in the art room. Art itself inspires her. “There are a lot of obstacles,” she said, “since we don’t have all the materials we need.”

Britton thinks that art might be apart of her job when she grows up.

Britton has enjoyed art for as long as she can remember. Her favorite thing to do is draw.

Noah likes art because you can express how you feel in sculpture, a painting, or on paper. His favorite piece by him is his texture self portrait. Noah’s personal favorite work of art is The Scream by Edvard Munch.

Noah contributes his inspiration for his sketches to God. His go to for art is to sketch. He really can’t do his sketches because he has no time because of school, homework and other responsibilities. Noah has always liked art so it would be no surprise if he were to make a career out of it.
