The lone walker
April 18, 2019
He walks our hallways every day, humbly, with a smile.
He pops out when needed, telling students roaming the hallways to get to class so they don’t get tardies.
His name is Jessie Walker, and he is Cross Creek’s new hall monitor.
A native Augustan, Walker graduated from Burke County High School in 2008.
After graduating, Walker enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as a cook. Four years later, he enrolled in Virginia College and graduated in 2018.
Walker’s favorite part of job is “the fact that you can interact with the students.”
In his spare time, Walker likes watching and playing sports, spending time with his family and cooking.
