Friends and family gathered in Cross Creek’s media center Thursday to witness senior Baylee Hall sign to play softball with Georgia College and State University.

A tearful Softball Coach Lisa White said she was proud of Hall, and would miss her once she graduates.

“Baylee is an outstanding athlete, and an outstanding student,” White said. “In fact, she’s our valedictorian this year. Baylee works very hard on and off the field I’m so proud of Baylee. I’m just so glad she decided to come to Cross Creek and play.”

Former softball coach Garrett Rushton, who retired from the English department this year, but has continued to help with training the team, said Hall has been a true asset to the school and team.

“Baylee was one of the best softball players I’ve ever coached,” Rushton said. “She had a great attitude, great spirit, and always had something positive to say. She’s a special one.”

Hall was too excited to say much.

“Thank you all for coming,” she said, when asked by Coach White if she had something to say.
