Senior Spotlight: Skyler James

Jacqulyn Cassaro

Skyler James is one of the many faces roaming the Cross Creek halls. Not only is he a student, but he has been swimming for two years, played baseball for three, joined both FFA and FFCLA this year, and has the privilege of being the Parliamentarian of FFCLA.

“It comes naturally,” James said, while expressing his love for swimming. “I feel like nobody can beat me.”

While he may not like waking up early and all of the school work that comes with high school, James enjoys all that his anatomy class to offer.

“The human body interests me,” he said.

A teacher here at Cross Creek that James has grown close to is Mr. Patton. Not only has he been a big help academically, he has been someone there for support.

“He is chill and always understanding,” James said.

When James isn’t in the classroom, you can find him playing X-box, hanging out with his friends, fishing, or playing disc golf.

He has one sister who has previously attended Cross Creek as well. From her, James gained a niece and nephew who he adores greatly.

“My sister is alright but annoying,” James shared. “As for my niece and nephew, I love them to death.”

After James graduates, he plans on attending Georgia Regents University for the first two years with his girlfriend and then finishing up his education at Georgia Southern to become a Radiologist.
