Bottle cap murals

Bottle+cap+murals

Are you tired of the same old similar looking art? Well Cross Creek art teacher, Mrs. Peake has found the solution; bottle cap murals.

Mrs. Peake learned how to do them in a class she took at an art conference she went to. They’re simply creating art from recyclable objects. You collect bottle caps of different colors, shapes, and sizes. You draw or paint whatever image you want on ply wood. Then you glue by color. It starts of boring and two dimensional and the bottle caps bring it to life.

Different students are going to start off doing different foods and hang them in the cafeteria since the walls are very large and plain. After food, Peake wants to start working on landscapes and reproductions of famous artwork.

“I have been collecting bottle caps since November of 2012 and she could use more. This is only the beginning.”
